192,375 Views - Los Angeles California's Greenhouse Effect with their classic hit "People...That Won't Back Down" which is One Of Clark-Haggans' favorite G.e. Songs; "I love that track from 1992 and it is our version of The Who's "Bargain" or "Going Mobile"....I love my drumming on it" Says Haggans. Bassist Rick Carmody provides a strong foundation with an active bass line that may be influenced by Heart or Steely Dan. "That Song is one of our tunes that is More "Bowie" than David Bowie himself but you can also hear all kinds of cheesey 1970's influences in it..... You can definitely hear some Dire Straights and Mark Knopfler kinda guitar,....I love my guitar playing on it too" Says Haggans. The band possibly never performed this song Live back in Redondo Beach as they split in October 1992 officially with Carmody. "When Ted joined the One Handed Readers in Redondo,....We missed out on some Great gigs where we would have likely been playing that song along with "Brandy" and "Shes A Bitch" Says Higgins. "People that won't back down" stands as one of the best songs to ever come out of the South Bay and along with "Coke Snorting" ,...it always gets big web traffic as aided by Google Adwords and Myspace Ads ran out of Boston Massachusetts by Higgins and his online team. Hagins played all of the instruments on the track - ofcourse except for the bass by Carmody - and it was painstakenly recorded by revered South bay Sound Studio recording engineer Bill Krodel.
